The kangaroo’s cultural importance to modern Australia cannot be overstated. It appears on the Australian coat of arms alongside the emu, represents numerous sports teams, including the national rugby league side, and features on currency and the logo of the national airline, Qantas. This ubiquitous presence reflects how the kangaroo has become intertwined with Australian national identity, representing qualities Australians admire: resilience, distinctiveness, and forward momentum.
All 2026 1 oz Australian Silver Kangaroo Coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are individually packaged in protective flips. Multiples are available in acrylic tubes of 25 coins or Monster Boxes of 250 coins, with 10 tubes in each box.
The obverse of the 2026 Australian Silver Kangaroo features the portrait of King Charles III, designed by Dan Thorne. The King is shown in left-profile relief without a crown, representing the first-generation effigy of His Majesty on Australian coins.
On the reverse of the 2026 1 oz Silver Kangaroo Coin, a kangaroo is shown in left-profile relief bounding through the design with a sunburst design around the edge. This imagery emphasizes the kangaroo’s remarkable adaptation for efficient movement across long distances in Australia’s varied terrain.
