Description

The Royal Canadian Mint has been issuing the highly regarded Gold Maple Leaf Series annually since 1979. Initially, the series only included the 1 oz gold coin with .999 purity. It was not until the 1982 release that fractional-ounce coins were introduced to the series. The Royal Canadian Mint took this opportunity to enhance the purity of the coins to 24-karat gold, and issued the 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz gold coins. Today, Bullion Mart offers the Random Year 1/4 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins for purchase online.

The Random Year 1/4 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, and can be purchased individually or in bulk packaging. Individually purchased coins come in sealed plastic, while multiples of 20 are provided in protective sheets.

The obverse of the Random Year Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, which is designed by Susanna Blunt and was first introduced in 2003. Notably, the portrait does not feature a crown, marking a rare depiction of the Queen. This design choice follows the tradition of her father, King George VI, who left the crown out of his own effigy.

On the reverse side of the Random Year 1/4 oz Gold Maple Leaf Coin, you will find an image of the sugar maple leaf. The design, created by Walter Ott in 1979, is a realistic portrayal of the official emblem of Canada. The intricate details of the maple leaf design are a testament to the fine craftsmanship of the Royal Canadian Mint. With its unique features and quality craftsmanship, the Random Year 1/4 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin is a highly sought-after addition to any collection.
